Music Therapy Assessment

The very first session is an in-depth assessment of 40 minutes. With the use of musical and non-musical assessments a baseline will be identified for the child in the areas of communication, social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills.

A treatment plan will be administered, which outlines the functional goals and objectives that both the clinician and family deem appropriate for the child to work on in therapy sessions moving forward. Progress will be matched against assessment and recorded weekly in notes for each session thereafter.

Weekly Sessions

Weekly Sessions In-Person or via Telehealth -Services include a 40 minute therapy session and 20 minutes of documentation and parent consultation. Within weekly sessions, the patient and clinician work on the goals and objectives outlined in the treatment plan. Quarterly progress reports are administered; as well as, take home materials upon request.

Family members such as siblings, etc. are welcomed and encouraged to join sessions to further connection, communication, and bond. The clinician will tailor and adapt interventions to best meet the goals and objectives of the patient, while also encouraging communication and interaction with their family member.
