How sessions work

  1. Start with an assessment

Your therapist gets to know your child, establishes a baseline, and identifies individualized goals for therapy.

  2. Create individualized goals

Your therapist writes goals for your child specifically, in plain language, and shares them with you before sessions begin.

  3. Meet online each week

40 minutes of music therapy from home, with an optional 20 minutes caregiver consultation.

  4. Review progress together

Your therapist revisits goals with you, adjusts the approach as needed, and builds on what is working.

Goals we support

Every plan draws on a few of these, chosen with you — never all of them at once.

  • Communication
  • Emotional regulation
  • Attention and engagement
  • Motor development
  • Social connection
  • Cognitive skills
  • Sensory support
  • Independence

Structure stays consistent; the music follows the child.

Structured around their goals. Built around what motivates them.

Movement
Rhythm that invites the whole body to join in.
Instrument play
Drums, shakers, keys — whatever holds attention.
Musical games
Stop-and-go, follow-along, matching, and playful challenges built around their goals.
Prop play
Scarves, ribbons, stretchy bands, and other props that turn music into hands-on play.
Sensory music play
Movement, textures, visuals, and sound combined to encourage growth and engagement.
Musical choice-making
Intentional opportunities to make choices, communicate preferences, and build independence.
She looks forward to it all week. It is the one part of her schedule she asks about by name, and we have started hearing her use words at home that she first tried out in a song.
